Mantsinen DualPower

MANTSINEN DUALPOWER

WHY CHOOSE?
GET BOTH.

MANTSINEN DUALPOWER is the first ever dual power concept in material handlers. It combines the best features of both electric motors and diesel engine. Resulting in a union of mobility, productivity and advanced environmental friendliness.

COMBINED BENEFITS OF DUALPOWER TECHNOLOGY

1.

Remarkable savings in energy costs and emissions when operated with electrical power. Unrestricted mobility when operated with diesel power.

2.

Flexible power source change option, as  both motors are connected to same powerline and machine control system without additional system interfaces.

3.

Notable savings on service costs compared to a separate diesel generator. The Dual Power solution is based on standard components, allowing for easy service and standard spare parts availability.

BENEFITS OF ELECTRIC MOTOR TECHNOLOGY

  1. A significant reduction of energy costs.
  2. Operation without CO2 and exhaust gas emissions.
  3. Reduced noise emittance. Improved working conditions.

BENEFIT OF DUALPOWER DIESEL TECHNOLOGY COMPARED TO A GENERATOR

  1. Uncompromised high performance level with considerably lower fuel consumption and emissions.
  2. Long engine lifecycle provided by the trustworthy Volvo Penta engine technology.
  3. Lower maintenance costs due to optimized standard diesel engine with short and direct powerline.

A WINNING COMBINATION OF ELECTRICITY AND DIESEL

The Dualpower technology combines the benefits of an electric machine and the versatility of a diesel machine.

The electric motor offers significantly lower energy and service costs without diesel exhaust emissions and reduced noise emittance. The standard high-performing electric motor and the diesel engine are located side by side in the shared engine cabinet.

The system is based on dual motor interface pump gear. The power source can be switched easily with a separation clutch.

DUALPOWER OFFERS DUAL BENEFITS FOR ENGBERGS

Engbergs operates in Östrand pulp mill, about 12 kilometers from Sundsvall port on the Swedish East Coast. Engbergs has a long history with Mantsinen Group, going back over 20 years. During this time they have seen the development of  Mantsinen to the size the company is today. Engbergs was the first customer to receive a dualpowered Mantsinen 120 with crawler undercarriage. The reason for the machine renewal was that the pulp mill decided to increase production by 100% and we needed to solve the logistics accordingly.

“I am very open minded towards development of products. When we are doing investments, we also look into the possibility of reducing carbon emissions. We wanted this solution because it combines two benefits: when you reduce emissions, you also reduce costs. It is a win-win situation. Looking at the last 7 days, we have lifted 23 000 tonnes  mainly with electric motor. Our average production has been 435 tonnes per hour”, Mr. Kjell-Arne Engberg, CEO of Engbergs explains.
